September is a great time for traveling, especially in Europe. Most of the tourists have gone home, and the real 'world-travelers' are there. The weather in Austria, Hungary, Germany Italy, Switzerland, France, or just about any place abroad is perfect for sightseeing, outdoor dining, window shopping or just strolling on the boulebard in Paris with your special someone. This is the perfect time to Cruise the rivers in Europe on Viking River Cruise ships and savor the sights and flavors they offer. I have reports on the best of cruising from Paris to Zurich for you, as well as delicious dining spots and tourist destination features.

Gelato Festival in West Hollywood was a sea of Gelato lovers and this judge who adores the enthusiastic Italians who have brought this Florence born festival to America three years ago. Bonjour Bayou event attracts a huge crowd to Dos Pueblos Ranch where the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission honors spectacular citizens who have made a contribution to the ongoing success of Santa Barbara. This year it's Concour style all the way and the menu items will be in our story.

The Hilton Executive was Profiled for September TASTE OF THE TOWN Gala Connoiseurs Dinner at Hilton Santa Barbara Oceanfront Resort. Bob Foley, Foley Wines was 2019 Honorary Vintner. It was an elegant outdoor event and the dinner was exceptional, a true gourmand's delight. Look for follow up story.

SIPS offers cool wine and beverage news for the month, including Taste of the Town at Riviera Park, and Kids K section has some great ideas for kids and teens and babies. Health Minded is filled with inspiring tidbits on organizations and supporters of area groups raising funds to fight diseases affecting friends and neighbors, including Hospice of Santa Barbara Awards Luncheon, Arthritis Foundation and more. So many generous people donating money to find a cure for diseases, and so many health professionals moving forward to help those in need.

We all must continue to pray for our young men and women fighting in foreign countries. They need our prayers -- they need to come home safely! May God help the victims of sensless attacks in Europe and around the world.
