For He departed, and behold, He is here." - St Augustine Letter from the Publisher April 2012 Dear Life Bites News Readers, Easter is here, and if that means a renewed faith, family reunion or just easter eggs and bunnies for you we hope you enjoy it all. This holiday has many happy memories for me, both as a child and as an adult. It is a major celebration for Cahtolics around the world, and presents amazing food preparation opportunities for restaurant chefs and family matriarchs who are preparing an Easter feast for their families. Below you will find a few recipes for Spring and we hope you enjoy them. In this issue we have focused primarily on the wonders of Ottawa Canada. The 100th birthday of the Fairmont Chateau Laurier, where a replica of the last dinner served on the Titanic will be presented at a gala, and historic dinners from the 1900s to the present will be served during a four month period.
We have also created a "Things to love in Ottawa" story that is a flash back of what to do when you are visiting this great Canadian capitol city, including information on Winterfest, art and food. In June the Four Seasons Maui has an awesome epicurean adventure planned that is covered in this months issue, and spa news considers skin and wine. "Book Bites" has a great story on the CALM luncheon featuring interviews with current author Meredith Baxter and others, and our health section takes you along for Barbara Ireland's, Cancer Center of Santa Barbara Walk for Cancer Research. Entertainment has some exciting news on events, openings, and star tips. Cody Hilton has a review on some newly released movies, and ideas for what to do on spring break. Sips is full of great stories on beverages of all kinds, events and information on the NPS. Our "Health Minded" section offers helpful ideas to get well and stay well. We have some new skin product news and information on foods that make your skin look great. The Taste of Solvang was an anamazing weekend in the Santa Ynez Valley, and St. Pat's day in Santa Barbara was grand as well. The contemporay but eco design of newly opened Indigo Hotel in Santa Barbara is state-of-the-art and attracting lots of attention, and Opera Santa Barbara's "The Marriage of Figaro" at the Granada Theatre was simply outstanding.
We hope your Easter is peaceful and happy. God Bless and we thank you for joining us this month. Look for our Mother's Day issue, which will be devoted to women who make a real difference in our world.
