A Candlelight Holiday Concert

Tuesday, December 3, 6:00 PM, El Presidio Chapel, 123 E. Canon Perdido Street

Opera Santa Barbara and the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation invite you to a very special evening to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Opera Santa Barbara’s first performance (December 3, 1993). Join us for an intimate concert with soprano Andrea Carroll and accompanist Robert Mollicone to inspire the holiday spirit. Ms. Carroll will perform songs ranging from Debussy to Mahler, Rachmaninoff, Spanish songs and a collection of Holiday tunes.

About the Artists

Soprano Andrea Carroll made her professional debut at just 23 years of age, starring as Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro at Fort Worth Opera. Praised for her “vibrant soprano voice” by Opera News and her “excellent comedic timing” by The New York Times, Carroll was the top prize-winner of both the 2012 Houston Grand Opera Eleanor McCollum Competition and the 2011 Sullivan Foundation Competition. As a member of the Houston Grand Opera Studio, she appeared in roles including Musetta in La bohème and Adele in Die Fledermaus. Upcoming performances include Woglinde in Das Rheingold in Houston, Rosalba in Florencia en el Amazonas with Washington National Opera, and Julie Jordan in Carousel with Glimmerglass Opera.

Pianist Robert Mollicone is a second-year Adler Fellow at the San Francisco Opera. For that company, he has served on the music staff for operas including The Magic Flute and The Flying Dutchman, and most recently served as prompter for the world premiere of Tobias Picker’s Dolores Claiborne. Mollicone was a Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist at the Washington National Opera and has worked with companies including Virginia Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and the Tanglewood Institute. He recently appeared in concert with famed mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves at the National Cathedral.

Bundle up with your loved ones for an evening of music by candlelight, inside the historic Presidio Chapel of Santa Barbara.

Tickets are $25, are very limited, and may be purchased by calling Opera Santa Barbara at (805) 898-3890.
