BOOK BITES . . . Reading + Event Cook Books for Summer . . .
State of California published a great book of artichoke recipes we found at the Artichoke Festival this month. Great new recipe ideas for artichoke lovers. Dennis Roy Patrick published a great novel on Santa Ynez that I am currently reading and love. Easy reading and an interesting look at life on the ranch. ___________________________________________________________________

The Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians’ Culture Department is preparing to host two important community events this October: the 27th Annual Chumash Intertribal Powwow, and the 18th Annual Santa Ynez Chumash Culture Day. Both events will be returning to the corner of Highway 246 and Meadowvale Road in Santa Ynez, and you can learn more in the features below. In museum news, the conservation programs developed between our architectural partners at Jones and Jones and the tribe’s Sustainability team continue to garner attention. In addition to our U.S. Green Building Council LEED® Silver certification and Sustainable Innovation Award for water conservation programs, the California Nature Art Museum recognized the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians last month at its annual Wilderness Spirit Awards for the outstanding sustainability practices implemented both here at the Santa Ynez Chumash Museum and Cultural Center and throughout Chumash Enterprises. We are honored to be recognized for our efforts as we continue this important tradition of environmental stewardship for the Santa Ynez Chumash community. ≈ ≈ ≈ _____________________________________________________________ MUSIC NEWS . . .
