NEW BOOK RELEASE

SERIOUSLY . . . I'M KIDDING by ELLEN DE GENERES

Talk show superstar and author Ellen DeGeneres joined "Extra's" Mario Lopez at The Grove Tuesday to talk about her new book, "Seriously... I'm Kidding," and her recent heart scare. After telling Mario she felt "good," DeGeneres demanded, "Take your shirt off!"

Thousands of Ellen fans lined up at The Grove to see the comedian, who recently penned her third book, "Seriously... I'm Kidding," in which the bestselling author candidly discusses her personal and professional life, even describing what it was like to be a judge on "American Idol."

When Lopez mentioned that Ellen had nice things to say about "Idol" judge Simon Cowell, Ellen joked, "I must have been drunk during that chapter," adding, "He's actually a nice guy."

DeGeneres addressed her health, telling Mario what happened after she experienced heart pain last month that caused the comedian to call 911. "Here's the thing... I was scared enough to call the paramedics. I woke up in the middle of the night to kind of like a tightness feeling in my chest and I thought, that's not good."

Ellen continued, "Then I was driving to work... right before I got in my car I started feeling it again and it was scary enough that I called the paramedics on the Warner Bros. lot thinking nobody would hear about it. It got blown out of proportion and I'm totally fine. I got it checked out and it's just... I don't know what it was."

"Seriously... I'm Kidding" is in bookstores now.
