Alice Louise Waters is an American chef, restaurateur, activist, and author. She is the owner of Chez Panisse, a Berkeley, California, restaurant famous for its organic, locally grown ingredients and for pioneering California cuisine, which she opened in 1971. She has authored many books, this one being "We Are What We Eat" the most recent. She has been honored by the greats for her knowledge and devotion to being healthy through good eating. She is renowned for her activitism and still is.

He has published three books, recently opened the Amalfi Restaurant in Caesars Palace in Las Vegas that is getting rave reviews from the critics, and is starring in a Bobby Flay TV show.
