Magical Escape for a Lunch at Spa Ojai

The Café Verde, an amazing private café with a charming private pool,
adjacent to the Spa Ojai at The Ojai Valley Inn & Spa Resort, is a peaceful respite for vacationers or day visitors to Ojai Spa. Their one-of-a-kind menu items are available indoors, on their charming patio or poolside (in your own cabana if you like).
The chef has created menu items that are so healthy and so delicious you may think they are really too good to be truely healthy. Some of my favorites include the Baby Beet salad featuring a warm cashew bread pudding, with marinated plums and
blue cheese. For an entrée I thoroughly enjoyed the Organic Salmon Wrap, which features grilled flatbread, sliced avocado, pea sprouts, slivered radish, a soy ginger emulsion made of tahini paste, soy, ginger, garlic, spicy mustard and sesame oil. This wrap is served with sweet potato fries and it is beyond wonderful. Strawberries & Cream is a sweet choice for dessert and is served with lavender honey yogurt.
The cocktail and beverage options at Café Verde are many and include a variety of fresh juice combinations, fruit smoothies and an alcoholic cocktail collection that includes light Italian champagne and a fantastic colorful and delicious Café Verde Mohito designed by Martha, one of the many caring and long-time cafe employees. Café Verde Mojito
1oz. Cruzan Rum
1oz. Cruzan Citrus rum
6 Mint Leaves
2 Wedges Lime
Club Soda
Sugar syrup or sugar packet
Add lime wedges, mint, & 1/2 packet of sugar to rocks glass. Muddle throoughly. Add ice and rums. Mix between 2 classes. Top with club soda. Garmish with lime wheel.

1 1/2 oz Cruzan Vanilla Rum, 1 1/2 oz Sake, Cucumber, 1/2 oz. Tonic Water (lite)
In a shaker, muddle 1" piece of chopped cucumber in tonic water. Add sake and rum. Shake vigorously. Strain into martini glass. Grnish with thin slice of cucumber floating on top. Cheers!
