LA COSTA SPA - A BEAUTIFUL STRESS BUSTER
by Bonnie Carroll
The new La Costa Spa is unique in that it has a private pool area, next to the Spa Cafe, where spa visitors may enjoy completely health minded lunches and snacks during the day, in a quiet lounging area, adjacent to a Jacuzzi and "rushing waters" shower that is better than a neck & head massage. The hot water pulses down over your head and completely relaxes you as you sit in a charming Spanish tiled cubicle. Everyone is mad for this experience!
The waiting room in the spa is very cushy and comfortable, and features three different tea and aromatherapy choices. They are designed to calm, invigorate or inspire you, and they are all delicious and refreshing. and I designed my own beverage by mixing all three together, and sat blissfully at the outdoor spa pool to await my treatment.
I was pleased to receive a Spanish scrub; a body scrub implemented with rare herbs to remove toxins from the body, that was followed by a delightful lavender oil massage. The huge indoor Jacuzzi is surrounded by colorful tile early American scenes to enjoy as you soak, and the dressing rooms are very modern. Each guest has a combination in the door of their closet, which is much nicer that wearing a plastic bracelet with a key all day. The steam room and sauna are also large and comfortable, with showers located just outside for your convenience.
Yamiguchi Salon is the best place to end your visit. They are located in the Spa building and they offer a variety of hair and nail services, using the purest of products. The menu describes "Zen" haircuts as being very popular at La Costa.
If you are a true "spa baby" this is one place you should run to. The services are excellent, the venue is divine and the cost is comparable with other fine spas. For information visit: www.lacostaspa.com.

Face lift coming for historic California Desert Hot Springs destination. The Two Bunch Palms Resort, in operation since the 1920s has been purchased and will be enhanced with some beautiful and needed ammenities this year. According to the new manger, they are holding auditions for a great new chef, and are giving the private casitas and villas a face lift.
But, not to worry, the treatments and quiet this spa is known for will remain the same, and guests who have visited for twenty-plus years can rest assured their visits will remain relaxing and renewing.
