Debuted at this week’s Farnborough International Airshow, the new ‘Crystal Business Class’ swaps the 2-3-2 layout of old for a more passenger-focused 1-2-1, while also dialling up the privacy with high walls and sliding doors
Modern touches like wireless charging, universal AC power and USB Type-C ports are all present and accounted for too, alongside a 22” screen and noise-cancelling headphones.
And when sleep beckons, passengers can convert their seat to a fully flat bed with the touch of a button, with the addition of a mattress topper, blanket and pillow dialling up the comfort.
If it all looks familiar, there’s a good reason – it’s based on the Safran Unity platform, which is also found on Japan Airlines’ Airbus A350, as well as Air India’s new twin-aisle business class and Qantas’ upcoming Project Sunrise A350s.
