Established 2010

The Mullin Automotive Museum is a privately owned automobile museum in Oxnard, California, US. Established in 2010, it displays the personal car collection of businessman and philanthropist Peter W. Mullin.[1][2] The museum has a large collection of vintage Bugattis, and many of the cars are fully restored and able to be driven.[3]

The museum is housed in the building formerly occupied by the Chandler Vintage Museum of Transportation and Wildlife.[2] The 50,000 sq ft (4,600 m2) building was remodeled to be more energy efficient by American architect David Randall Hertz, making use of solar panels and reflective roofing to reduce heat, yet incorporating elements that retain the Art Deco style and motifs in order to match the era of the cars, many of which were made by French manufacturers in the 1920s and 1930s.[4]

Although it is primarily known for its selection of classic French automobiles and grand prix race cars, the Mullin also houses a collection of Art-Deco furniture and contemporary paintings and sculpture.

The Founder

Peter W. Mullin has had a lifelong romance with automobiles. He is a devoted supporter of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and other concours events around the globe. He has entered and driven his cars in vintage races and rallies for the last 25 years, both in the United States and abroad.

Mullin is Chairman of Mullin Barens Sanford Financial & Insurance Services, Chairman Emeritus and current Board Member of M Financial and Past Chairman and current Board Member of the Petersen Automotive Museum, President of the American Bugatti Club, and an active participant and supporter of the Los Angeles Community. He is also a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters for contributions to preserving French history and culture and is a founding partner in the Cotswold Automotive Park and Mullin Museum in Great Tew, UK.

The Foundation

The Mullin Automotive Museum Foundation supports non-profit public charities that are dedicated to the study, preservation and public display of classic automobiles.

FIRST VETERANS DAY PARADE AT MAVERICK SALOON  IN SANTA YNEZ VALLEY

 by Bonnie Carroll

Proud Veterans March in Premier Parade in SYV

2021 was the Premier Veterans Day Parade in Santa Ynez Valley, California. The event was organized by local organizations and supported by local and state officials and area veterans. Maverick Saloon provided great food and beverages for the veterans and local Veteran bikers and their wives made a great contribution to the parade excitement, as well as the local Fire Department who hung a flag from their fire ladder for the pledge and national anthym. It was red, white and blue everywhere the eye could see.

Sheriff Bill Brown rode in the parade and spent time talking with area veterans in attendance. A few special guests had served in WWII and many were Vietnam veterans. There was patriotic music and pledge to the flag, as well as fun country music. The burgers were delicious, along with a bevy of additional food favorites. A Huey II helicopter attracted lots of attention and local Santa Barbara photographer Rick Carter, also a veteran in uniform rode in the parade on the historic helicopter.

Ladies dressed in 40s WWII costumes were a huge hit and so appreciated, as were all the volunteers who manned the booths on a variety of veteran related services and who worked so hard to make this first Veterans Day parade a wonderful success. The parade was covered by local news station KEYT3-12. God Bless Our Veterans!
