The research is clear: children are beginning puberty earlier and earlier, and very few resources adequately prepare them for the changes their minds and bodies will undergo.

In response, acclaimed authors Heather Anderson, Fay Angelo, and Rose Stewart have written a trio of practical, informative, and engaging books that educate and support boys and girls through puberty.

Secret Girls’ Business is a gentle introduction for girls experiencing early puberty, which is the case for an increasing number of girls, many of whom begin the process as young as eight years of age. It includes the physical and emotional changes of puberty and period management and is a helpful introduction to more in-depth puberty education.

More Secret Girls’ Business is the "companion" volume to Secret Girls’ Business. This book provides girls with a greater understanding and a deeper knowledge about puberty and sexuality. Information is presented in a sensitive but open manner and covers the physical, social, and emotional changes experienced during puberty.

Secret Boys’ Business, written at the specific request of boys, provides adolescent males with a full understanding of the physical and emotional changes experienced at puberty and helps them feel comfortable and confident about their bodies as they mature. The book includes information about all puberty changes, including personal hygiene, mood swings, and self esteem.

All three books include fun, colorful illustrations, are easy to read, present accurate information using non-threatening and age-appropriate language that encourages open and thoughtful discussion, address sensitive issues such as protective behaviors and sexual feelings, and provide valuable hints for parents, teachers, carers, nurses, and community workers. In addition, the books also provide important information for young people of the opposite sex to read.

Sex education is an important aspect of a child's development, and this series will assist children, parents, carers, nurses, schools and community groups to provide factual information from books using simple language and fun illustrations.

All three books are receiving rave reviews, and Secret Boy's Business was singled out to receive the Bronze Medal from the Living Now Book Awards in the category of Family/Parenting, USA.

"Secret Boys’ Business is a fabulous book that should be left in the bedroom of every boy who is going through puberty. Boys generally don't travel too well through this period of transition. They need information about their bodies and reassurance that what they are experiencing is normal. This book gives boys that reassurance as well as the facts they should know presented in a fun, no holds-barred way. Great tips for parents and teachers too." ~ Michael Grose, parenting educator, author of seven books for parents, and director of Parentingideas

Authors: Heather Anderson is a youth health nurse, sexual and reproductive health nurse, and sexuality educator. Fay Angelo is a primary and special education teacher and assistant principal. Rose Stewart is a psychologist. Between them, they have raised eight sons and one daughter and have worked extensively with literally thousands of students in preschool, primary, secondary, and special schools with students, ages three to eighteen years old.
