VILLA SASSA Hotel & Residence Wellness & Spa

Good Health in Ticino Switzerland

By Bonnie Carroll

Located in the hills of Lugano, only a few minutes from the city center, Villa Sassa Hotel, Residence & Spa is the perfect place to discover Lugano, the lake region, the mountains, and the entire Ticino region.

I just loved this charming venue of bliss, where state-of-the-art health equipment and treatments abound. The Swiss are devoted to natural and new and you will find it all in their spa and throughout the hotel.

From the Alps to the Mediterranean, the territory of Ticino is a land with many facets to discover. A corner of Switzerland that is rich in natural contrasts, where you will discover new things to do every day, experiencing its traditions and enjoying breathtaking views.

The Spa - Feeling beautiful is essential, both inside and out

Villa Sassa offers an oasis of wellbeing and beauty. A special environment where nature and a team of professionals can care for you. Pure essences providing lovely fragrances in every space, precious oils, soft background music: the special ambiance makes it easy to just let go, as expert hands massage, pamper and cleanse the body and skin.

The Club - The utmost in wellness with the privileges of a club is not just a gym  but a club with a wide range of services, all within one unique environment: DOT Spa, Ai Giardini di Sassa Gourmet Restaurant, Sassa Bistro & Bar, hair salon, beauty centre, medical-aesthetic centre and more.

DOT.Spa

TDOT.Spa are career veterans at providing exceptional skin and body care and the knowledge they bring is priceless. I was amazed by their advanced skill and highly customized treatments with attention to each individual’s body dynamic. This is really a fine med spa and they have the most up-to-date equipment and products available. The massage, and the facial I received was possibly my best ever.

Getting There: The Lugano-Agno Airport offers daily flights to Geneva and Zurich with flights operated by SWISS and it's only 5 minutes from the hotel. www.swiss.com.

Distance from other airports:

  • Milano Malpensa (MXP) 75km - about an hour by car
  • Milano Linate (MIL) 103 km - about 90 minutes by car
  • Milano Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY) 119km - about 90 minutes by car
  • Zurich 219km - about 2 and a ½ hours by car
  • Geneve 375km - 4 and a ½ hours by car

From the railway station

The hotel Villa Sassa is 10 minutes on foot from the Lugano Railway Station.

By car

From Switzerland: from the A2 highway, exit "Lugano Nord"

From Italy: Como - Brogeda or Varese - Gaggiolo routes, towards Lugano - Bellinzona - Gottardo, exit "Lugano Sud" and follow for the railway station.

Fun Things to Do:

Food Truck Festival, Piazza Grande, 6600 Locarno, Locarno Switzerland

Street Food in the truest sense of the word: trucks, caravans & ape cars – coming from the North of the Alps as well as from our lively Italian neighbors.

Authentic dishes are prepared and served by the food truckers, which bring their enthusiasm and the passion for local ingredients into the meal.

The universal language of good food, combined with history, culture and exciting stories can be explored during a weekend in April in Piazza Grande, Locarno. We are looking forward to seeing you…bring along a good mood for great food! Free entry. Friday/Saturday/Sunday 11:00-23:00 http://foodtruckticino.ch/ Organized by the Amis da la Forchéta.
